On Politics

"Feed the men, then ask of them virtue."

"In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us' Make us your slaves, but feed us."

-Dosteovsky-Grand Inquisitor

Much thanks to Shrodingers Cat for the quote

There are a few interpretations you could mention with those quotes . . . As long as we have food in our bellies, well don't confuse us with whatever virtue might be? We're speaking about 'we'll sell our souls for a mess of pottage?'

Today's (liberal) memo: Why think when we don't have to? Let someone else do it for us. So what if we lose just about everything else as a result. It'll all be wonderful somehow.

Tomorrow's (conservative) memo: Go out and stinkin' vote on election day to retain every possible right and its requisite responsibility. "Give me liberty, or give me death!" Patrick Henry quote.
